Christmas Lunch!

Gosh! What a festive time we had in the hall for Christmas lunch today!

The children in KS1 and Reception had made some wonderful crowns to wear.

Our super efficient Year 6 House Captains & Vice Captains were busy running around the hall helping with the serving of meals to the children, Governors and staff. They did a great job. Many of the school staff were active helping the MDSAs with all the lunchtime tasks too.

Almost 275 meals were served by Mrs Aldred and her team - Thank you to the kitchen team for a delicious lunch! You deserve a rest now!

Sing Praise

Sing Praise have had a busy few weeks.

They have sung at an Advent service at St Michael’s with choristers from St Mary le Tower, Ipswich. They entertained the residents at Mills Meadow care home and at sang at Framlingham College Chapel with the Phoenix Singers.

The children have sung beautifully at all three events.

Mini Music Makers

Our Mini Music party was held in the Ark today after our music session.

We sang, danced and played instruments and shared some delicious snacks! We restart on a Tuesday morning next term at 8.45am.

Christmas Carol Service

Our Year 3 and Year 4 children led our annual Carol Service yesterday at St Michael's Church.

It was lovely to see so many parents join us for this seasonal celebration, alongside all the Year 5 and 6 children.

We thank Rev Mary Lamb for joining us and for delivering the blessing.

Music Showcase

What talented musicians this school has! Friday's special Music assembly was a truly inspiring experience for the whole school.

Seeing children confidently stand up and perform in front of an audience of 300+ on violins, clarinets, recorders, flutes, trumpets and saxophones was fantastic.

Thanks to our wind and brass tutor Mrs Blouet and Mrs Fell our violin tutor.

Not only that but we were treated to some wonderful singing from Class SBr who have been working with Megan Peel all term.

Thank you to the Friends!

Thank you to the Friends and the volunteers who helped serve refreshments at all of this week's five Nativities.

We hope that the parents and families enjoyed having a hot choc or coffee with a mince pie treat before the curtain went up!

and that's a wrap!

The final Nativity was truly magical, and the children in Mrs Brady's Class, MB, put on a simply perfect performance.

Parents, siblings, grandparents and other family members were excited to see their Reception children in their first school Nativity.

We are super proud of how well they did on the stage in front of a big audience! Brilliant!

Look out for the link to the video that we'll send next week and the photo gallery that will be on the website soon.

Happy Christmas everyone!

Nearly There!

Our penultimate Nativity this morning was delivered with joy and delight from the children in Mrs Mawson's Class, KM.

Their singing was beautiful as it echoed around the hall for the parents, siblings and other family members to hear.

Well done to everyone, it is very daunting to stand up age 4 or 5 in front of spotlights and an audience of 100 people, we are very proud of you all!

Key Stage 2 Poetry Recital

Key Stage 2 had their half termly poetry recital today which was judged by Julia from "Ottie and Bea" bookshop.  The theme was ‘Children’ and there were a lot of different styles of poems. The poems recited were Messy Room; Please Miss Butler; Bedtime; Peeking past the curtain; Christmas Legend and Class MS wrote their own.

All the children performed with great confidence and showed a good improvement on presentation since the last poetry competition in October.

Well done to Class SBJA who won this half-term’s recital performing “Storytime” by Jon Kitching – a very clear and well performed recital using great oracy.

Thank you so much to Julia who had the hard choice of deciding the winning poem.  A huge thank you also to Julia very kindly donated a beautiful poetry book called; "A Whale of a time".
