TRIM TRAIL
As many of you will have seen, the Trim Trail has been installed in the playground and it looks fantastic. I would like take this opportunity to thank the Friends for their hard work over the last few years in raising the funds for this equipment and for the work involved with the supplier in the planning, ordering and installation of it.
The equipment will be ready to use on Monday and we will set up a rota by which every class has a regular opportunity to play on the equipment at break and lunch time.
IMPORTANT: the equipment is NOT INSURED for use by children under school age or out of school hours, so we must stress that you do not allow children to play on the equipment before or after school.
MARIE CURIE DAFFODIL DISPLAY
A number of the children have told us that their daffodils are starting to flower – they must have much greener fingers than the teachers as ours are not yet ready to bloom!. On Friday 6 March, if your flower is blooming, please bring it into school for a display and we will judge some winning blooms – don’t forget you can decorate the pot too. MAKE SURE YOUR POT IS CLEARLY NAMED. Please place them on the steps in the lunch courtyard beside the hall (- but ensure access is kept clear for the fire escape up to the gate).
For those whose flowers are not yet ready bring them in on Friday 20 March for a second display.
Children should only bring their daffodil to one of these occasions.
SHARE OUR WORK – WEDNESDAY 11 MARCH 3.15pm to 4.00pm
The ‘Share our Work’ sessions have proved popular over the last couple of years. We would like to invite parents into the classrooms at the end of the school day where their children will show them their trays and discuss their work with you. The teachers will be available for general help and advice but it is not intended that this be an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with their teacher in detail. If you wish to make an appointment for another time, please speak with the teacher. If you have more than one child in the school, you may wish to visit each class with the other siblings so that you can enjoy looking at each other’s tray together. The Nursery children will not be taking part in this.
We look forward to seeing you at this event, which we think will be most enjoyable.
Could we ask bus parents to please make it quite clear to their children if they are to travel home on the bus or not on this day? There will be no Maypole or Holy Horrors on this day.
SUMMER DRESSES AND OTHER UNIFORM
We have some girls’ excellent quality second hand school summer dresses for sale in all sizes. They will be available outside the School Office on Wednesday 11 March (Share our Work Day) until Friday 13 March. They can be purchased for a donation to the school. We will gladly receive any dresses that are found to be too small this year – come and do a swap! Other uniform is also available.
MOTHER’S DAY SERVICE – THURSDAY 19 AND FRIDAY 20 MARCH
On Thursday 19 March at 1.30-2.30pm we are holding a Mother’s Day Service at St Michael’s for KS1 (JC, LC, EM) and then on Friday 20 March at 9.30-10.30am there will be one for Nursery (KS) and Reception (CH).
Parents are welcome to attend these events at the Church where they will be invited to sit with their child and join in with the activities. There will be a limit of 2 adults per child.
SCHOOL CAR PARK
Please can all parents note that they cannot park in the staff car park at anytime during the school day, this includes those parents collecting from Nursery/Lunch club. The back playground can be used after 4pm as a car park when collecting children from after-school clubs.

Many thanks to those of you who had registered your tokens on the Flora website. We are pleased to inform you that through this scheme we have been able to order some cooking equipment including a number of chopping boards. The scheme starts again on 2 March so please continue to register your tokens, or bring into the office if you are unable to register them online yourself. Thank you.
