Class LH went for a 'splendid' walk to Robin Wood to launch the new topic of 'Splendid Skies'. We were looking for evidence that autumn is approaching and changes in the weather. We found some leaves turning brown, a few bushes with rose-hips on and blackberries which the birds will enjoy.
We also observed the weather and looked at the clouds and the wind. Unfortunately, the clouds were difficult to see as the sky was all white and there was a slight, light drizzle but our "season detectives" were not phased. The detectives commented that over the weekend they had all seen different clouds in the blue skies. We also discussed how strong the wind was and noted how different it has been over the past few days.
It was a great way to launch the new topic and we can't wait to go back later on in the term and see how the environment has changed again during the autumn.
