Fond Farewell!

On Friday evening the Staff & Governors said our own farewells to Mrs Picton as she retired from Sir Robert Hitcham's.

We presented her with gifts from the school staff, governor & parents, which included a garden bistro set, some beautiful earrings, gift vouchers, and some school memorabilia including a school photo and a signed camp t-shirt!

The centerpiece of the event was the stunning cake which was superbly made by @Clare's Cakes - it really was very impressive and left Mrs Picton speechless!

Thank you to all the parents who contributed, Mrs Picton was blown away with the wonderful send off!

Goodbye Mrs Picton!

Today the whole school family of children & staff gave Mrs Picton a wonderful send off, as she retires from our school after 12 years as our Headteacher!

The children thanked her through poetry and songs, and wished her the most happy future.

The children presented her with some amazing cards, made by each  class, and some beautiful flowers.

Mrs Picton has generously donated to the school two gigantic vegetable trugs in which the children can plant & grow our own flowers & vegetables.

Reflecting her love of music and the support she has given to music in our school over the years, Mrs Picton has also bought the school a stunning conductors stand, which will take pride of place in the hall.

Thank you Mrs Picton for your dedication, kindness, generosity & care to our school, we will really miss you!

Wishing you all the best for a happy retirement!

It was wonderful to see them shine today at their Leaver's Service at St Michael's Church this morning, the teaching staff were very proud of them all.

We wish them all a happy and successful move to High School in September.

Class LH ‘shaping up’ to Mondrian!

AS artists, Class LH have been studying the Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian, and finding out about his abstract style of art using just the primary colours; red, blue and yellow.  We used his inspiration to design our own vehicles in the style of Mondrian.  We also created examples using Lego and the ‘Art Revelation’ programme on the computer to help practise our mouse control skills too.

Robin Wood with Class JF

Class JF had a wonderful time in Robin wood. We identified trees and learnt parts of a leaf.

We made clay bugs with leaf litter and took home a decoration tree cookie necklace.

We had an assembly in the campfire circle, a story and a treat!

Our thanks go to Mrs Crittenden and Mrs Jenkins who helped us have such a fun day swinging in hammocks, building water chutes and cooking exotic meals in the mud kitchen to share in our dens.

Amazing Aladdin!

The Year 6 children have delivered 3 awesome performances of  'Aladdin Trouble'.

Together with the brilliant staff team, the children have been rehearsing for weeks - singing songs, learning lines & stage directions, they've made fabulous props and the staff have created wonderful staging backdrops.

We really hope the audience enjoyed the productions at Framlingham College and are very grateful to the College & the team there for their help this week.

We are very proud of all of the children and how truly fantastic they were!

There is a gallery of photos loaded onto the website - we'd like to say a huge thank you to John Byer for the brilliant photographs!
