Nursery Admissions for January 2027

Our Nursery is an environment where children have a variety of experiences through play, helping to develop their knowledge and understanding of the world around them and give them a strong foundation upon which to start to build the curriculum.

Our Nursery can take children from the beginning of the term following their third birthday.   Children may have up to five terms of free part-time early learning with us before they join the Reception class.  

Nursery Application forms can be downloaded here for 2026/27 or pop into the office to collect a printed form.

Applications for January 2027 should be returned to the school office by 25 September 2026, please, for us to allocate places in accordance with our Nursery Admissions Policy.  Admission forms for April 2027 should be returned to the school office by early January 2027.

In addition, we have a chargeable lunch club that runs until 1.30pm. Nursery children may have a school dinner or bring a packed lunch.  During this period and for their playtime in or outside, the children remain fully supervised.  We do not offer 30 hours of funded childcare, but you may use extended hours to cover the additional cost of the lunch club (up to 8 hours 20 mins) if you are eligible.

Year 6 Leaver's Service

Year 6 presented a lovely service packed full of their memories and their time at SRH including personal, sporting and musical achievements; class based achievements; privileges and responsibilities amongst others.  Reverend Chris Davey gave them a special blessing and Mrs Cann reflected on the children and their time at SRH. 

As the pupils have reached the end of an important chapter in their school journey, we would like to congratulate them on all they have achieved during their time with us.

Throughout the year, they have shown determination, resilience, kindness, and a positive attitude towards learning. They have embraced challenges, supported one another, and worked hard to achieve their goals. We are incredibly proud of their many accomplishments, both inside and outside the classroom.

As they prepare to move on to their new schools, we would like to thank them for the wonderful contributions they have made to our school community. They leave with many happy memories, valuable skills, and friendships that will stay with them for years to come.

We wish every member of Year 6 the very best for the future. Good luck in your next adventure, and remember to be confident, aim high, and always believe in yourselves. We are proud of you all and look forward to hearing about your future successes. Well done, Year 6!

Bright Smiles Ahead!

Sarah from Dentaid visited all the children from Nursery up to year 4 to remind them about the importance of looking after your teeth.  The children had some very engaging conversations and were shown the right way to clean their teeth.  Some of the children in year 1 and 2 reported “I found it good to find out about cleaning twice a day”; “it is important to go round and round with the toothbrush” and “we need to use a pea size amount of toothpaste, and we mustn’t swallow it.”  

Some of the older children said “we need to drink through a straw so that the drink doesn’t go on our teeth as much” and "I didn't realise that there was so much sugar in squash!"  Sarah showed all the classes terrible pictures of an adult and a child who didn’t look after their teeth.  Some of the children (and staff) were very shocked!  All the staff felt the children had learnt a lot and it was so good to have the reminders.  They all went home with a new toothbrush and some toothpaste.  Thank you to Sarah and Dentaid for providing this useful opportunity for the children.

Colour Run Thanks from The Friends

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at our Colour Run on Friday. 

It was amazing to see so many children and families taking part and making the event such a fantastic success.

We couldn't have done it without our incredible volunteers. Whether you helped us from 8.45am setting up, supported us throughout the day, ran a stall or threw paint, you helped the event run so smoothly. We are incredibly grateful for your time, energy and enthusiasm.

A special thank you also goes to Tim for his brilliant commentary throughout the event, Kelly and Steve from Hybrid Fitness for their fantastic warm-up sessions, and all of our sponsors, whose generosity covered the costs of the event.

Water safety assembly

With the holidays fast approaching, we turn our thoughts to holidays and days out by the sea, rivers and lakes.  We were extremely grateful to Emma from Stradbroke Swimming Pool who visited us to give the whole school valuable skills and strategies to use if they were to get into difficulty.  She shared about the "float to live" and also told us about which flags to look out for at the beach and their meanings.  Thank you to Emma for sharing such important facts with the children. 

Year 6 Production – Dragon Days

This week, Year 6 had the exciting opportunity to spend several days at Framlingham College, rehearsing and preparing for their production of Dragon Days. The children spent Monday and Tuesday settling into the theatre environment, familiarising themselves with the stage, props and technical aspects of the production.

On Wednesday morning, they performed to the rest of the school before taking to the stage again for their first public performance in the afternoon. The final performance took place on Thursday evening, and the children truly rose to the occasion, delivering a confident, energetic and memorable show.

We are enormously proud of every member of Year 6. Throughout the week, they demonstrated resilience, determination and teamwork, stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing every challenge that came their way. Their enthusiasm, commitment and talent shone through in every performance, and they should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Framlingham College for the exclusive use of their beautiful theatre, which provided the perfect venue for this special event. We are also grateful to all the staff, families and volunteers who supported the production and helped make it such a success.

Music filled the air at the Arts Festival

We had a wonderful afternoon filled with music, singing, dancing and joyful performances. 

The sound of the guitars, violins and clarinets created a fantastic atmosphere, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed taking part and listening to each other. It was a truly memorable event that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. 

A huge thank you to Mrs Mawson for organising such a special afternoon and giving us all the opportunity to share and celebrate our talents together.

Roman Invasion at SRH!

Year 3 and 4 were treated to a visit from a Roman centurion last Thursday, 2nd July. Introducing himself in Latin, Gaius Maximus spent the day teaching us a great deal about life as a Roman, first in Italy and then as part of the Roman empire. Over the course of the day, we re-enacted battles between Celts and Romans, learnt war moves, tried on costumes and handled artefacts, receiving a real hands-on experience. Highlights were seeing pumice from Vesuvius, holding Roman swords and taking home hand-made clay oil lamps. We also loved playing a card game to learn the names of Roman Gods and emperors, and dressing up as horses to act out a chariot race. Marnie in Year 4 commented, “The day was fantastic!” and Ingrid stated, “It was very fun and enjoyable.” Thanks so much to the friends for raising the money for us to have this brilliant experience!
