Year 3 and 4 football World Cup

Year 3 and 4 children have enjoyed playing in their own football world cup at lunchtime. The teams have been going through the group stages ending with Spain v Argentina in the final, with Argentina winning! Well done for all the children who played, you all showed great skill, sportsmanship and team work. 

Girls Football Against Sir Robert Hitcham Debenham

The year 3 and 4 girls competed in a football competition on Tuesday 9^th July at SRH Framlingham. we had two 6aside teams which played against 3 teams from SRH Debenham. There was some outstanding individual performances and some great goals scored from both schools. Overall the girls made the school very proud with their fantastic attitude.

Year 5 and 6 Girls 6- a-side football

Year 5 and 6 girls enjoyed playing 6-a-side football matches against Kyson Primary School. It was a mini tournament where four teams played three games each. It was rather muddy but very good fun! The children showed great determination and sportsmanship and all the children who participated should be very proud of themselves!

Reception Class visit Robin Wood

 Classes KM and CH had such a fabulous time at Forest School on Friday afternoon.

Girls School Games 5-aside Football Tournament 2018

On Thursday, eleven girls took part in a tournament with eight other teams. All of the girls showed incredible resilience, perseverance and bravery. We thank: the School Games team, parents, teachers and Mrs Berry for their support. Both teams played in the semi-finals which lead to penalties. We were awarded second and third place in the tournament, a great result. Well done girls!

What an end to an action packed week of lunch time and after school clubs!!

Today is the final day of our visit to the vast array of different clubs offered at lunchtime and after school.  

Friday seems to be a very busy day in the life of the school clubs at SRH.  

Singing club was well underway with the beautiful sounds of Christmas carols being rehearsed for Friday's Christmas late night shopping on the Market Hill.

The boys and girls at K-nex and Lego club were engrossed in creating themed models and were able to explain what they were making.

'Number wizards' were discovering and exploring shape using a variety of resources.  The children were all interacting with other year groups to help work out, problem solve and establish patterns together. 

Polydron was being used to create 2D and 3D shapes

 Great teamwork was shown as tangrams are being discussed!  How do the shapes go together?  Maybe we need to try again!

Different patterns were being produced using a mix of 3 and 4 sided irregular and regular shapes. 

Gymnastics club were learning how to land properly and thinking about how they jumped off the apparatus.  

Year 5/6 football were warming up and preparing before building on their basic skills

The staff provide many experiences for the children during the after school clubs and lunch time clubs alongside external providers.  The children partake in musical, sporting, social and problem-solving activities.  The dance club, board games, 1:1 music lessons  are also available.  Seasonal clubs such as drama and gardening are also offered.

Busy, busy, busy at Thursday's clubs!

As we continue our daily updates of school clubs...

what a range of activities today has offered st SRH!

Christmas themed tunes on the chime bars sounded amazing!  The group were staying in time and following the music very well - such a sweet sound.

All the children were very determined and concentrating very hard. 

In the year 5 science club, electrons and atoms were being explored.  The children were making representations of electronic configurations for various atoms such as argon and hydrogen and oxygen.   

Magnus created the hydrogen configuration to start with.

Holy Horrors were learning the story of Zacchaeus and modelling coins to reinforce the meaning of the story.

Another group at Holy Horrors were thinking about the food we eat at Christmas and learning about the importance of the nativity story to Christians. 

Up at the field, the year 3/4 boys football club was well underway with tackling skills being worked on. 

Passing accurately to each other to develop basic skills to build on. 

Norwich Football Trial Success!

Earlier in the year we sent out a parent mail about Norwich Academy boys football trials. We have since learnt that 5 boys from years 5 and 6 got into the teams. 3 of the boys got into the PDC - Player Development Centre and 2 boys into the PTC - Player Technical Centre. 

Congratulations, this is a huge achievement for you all. We wish you every success and please keep us updated on how you get on.

Girls Inter-school Football Tournament

7 teams played a tournament in the mud, wind and rain last week on the SRH school field.

The matches were played in an excellent spirit by all the girls.

They didn't seem to mind the conditions.

Framlingham finished level on points with St Botolphs but came runners-up by a narrow margin.

House Football League Has Exciting Finish

Hitcham won the girls league with a dramatic win in the final match against Mills.

Bulstrode were the convincing winners of the boys league - unbeaten in 9 games.
