A Wonderful Parent Sharing Afternoon in Class SB and Class MS.

Class SB and MS were delighted to welcome parents into the classroom for a fun-filled Parent Sharing Afternoon. Families were encouraged to join in with a variety of activities, making it a wonderful opportunity to learn together. We enjoyed taking part in maths challenges and explored our new class book, Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly, which tells the inspiring true story of four African-American women mathematicians at NASA. Children and parents worked together to design rockets and complete reading comprehension activities about the astronauts linked to our learning. We also showed our creative side by making paper angels and stars to be displayed at the church. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with teamwork, learning and lots of smiles.

Easy Fundraising - donations at no cost you !

Please remember to use easyfundraising when you do your Christmas online shopping this year.

Over 8,000 retailers including eBay, John Lewis & Partners, Argos and M&S will donate to Framlingham Sir Robert Hitcham’'s CEVAP School for FREE when you use easyfundraising to shop with them.

This means you can raise donations for us when you buy anything from decorations and festive food shopping to gifts like toys, jewellery, tech, experiences and more!

These donations really help us and all you have to do is use easyfundraising when you’re ordering the things you’ll be buying anyway.

All you need to do is:

1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/framlingham-sir-robert-hitchams-ceva-primary-school and join for free.

2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.

3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Framlingham Sir Robert Hitcham's CEVA Primary School at no extra cost to you whatsoever!

There are no catches or hidden charges and Framlingham Sir Robert Hitcham's CEVA Primary School will be really grateful for your donations.

Thank you for your support.

Reception Applications for Sept 2027

Applications for children joining a Reception Class in September 2027 are now open through Suffolk Admissions.  Application window closes 15 January 2027.

If you are considering where would best suit your child for their education, then we would love you to visit us to take a look around.

We are a successful and well-resourced CEVAP School of up to 350 children, in the delightful market town of Framlingham. We have a dedicated team of staff and enthusiastic pupils who are confident and motivated. Our teachers support a wide range of extra-curricular activities which enhance the breadth of opportunities available to our children. We have an intake of up to 50 Reception pupils in each academic year.

Please contact us to arrange to join one of our small group or private tours in September, October or November, where we can show you around our wonderful school.

On your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to see our extensive school facilities including our fabulous school field with our Robin Wood area, our magnificent Music Ark, our curriculum kitchen, our two large playgrounds and of course our super Reception classes and their dedicated outside areas.  You’ll also get to meet the terrific team that we have in Reception and see the children in action in the classes.

We were delighted that our last Ofsted inspection, again, we were graded as ‘Good’, defining us as “a happy and friendly school”, where “pupils enjoy their learning and the time they spend together”.

Specifically, they noted that in Early Years the adults “guide children’s learning through thoughtful questions that help children extend their thinking and their play” and our “well-chosen books and stories expose children to rich language from a young age” and that our Early Years team “support children well to use accurate and precise sounds when learning to read”.

Contact us on 01728 723354 or email c.miller@hitchams.suffolk.sch.uk to arrange your visit – we look forward to hearing from you.

Nursery Admissions for January 2027

Our Nursery is an environment where children have a variety of experiences through play, helping to develop their knowledge and understanding of the world around them and give them a strong foundation upon which to start to build the curriculum.

Our Nursery can take children from the beginning of the term following their third birthday.   Children may have up to five terms of free part-time early learning with us before they join the Reception class.

Nursery Application forms can be downloaded here for 2026/27 or pop into the office to collect a printed form.

Applications for January 2027 should be returned to the school office by 25 September 2026, please, for us to allocate places in accordance with our Nursery Admissions Policy.  Admission forms for April 2027 should be returned to the school office by early January 2027.

In addition, we have a chargeable lunch club that runs until 1.30pm. Nursery children may have a school dinner or bring a packed lunch.  During this period and for their playtime in or outside, the children remain fully supervised.  We do not offer 30 hours of funded childcare, but you may use extended hours to cover the additional cost of the lunch club (up to 8 hours 20 mins) if you are eligible.

For enquiries regarding Nursery admissions, please email us @ Nursery Enquiries or visit our website.

Colour Run Thanks from The Friends

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at our Colour Run on Friday.

It was amazing to see so many children and families taking part and making the event such a fantastic success.

We couldn't have done it without our incredible volunteers. Whether you helped us from 8.45am setting up, supported us throughout the day, ran a stall or threw paint, you helped the event run so smoothly. We are incredibly grateful for your time, energy and enthusiasm.

A special thank you also goes to Tim for his brilliant commentary throughout the event, Kelly and Steve from Hybrid Fitness for their fantastic warm-up sessions, and all of our sponsors, whose generosity covered the costs of the event.

Sponsorship
To make the event as successful as possible, we just need one final bit of help.

If you haven't already done so, please pay your child's sponsorship money via Arbor using the Donation option in the Payments section of your child's account.
Alternatively, please hand in your cash to the school office.

ARBOR IS OPEN TO ADD YOUR DONATIONS ALL THIS WEEK
We're aiming to raise £5,000 for the school, so every penny really does count!

We can't wait to share our final fundraising total with you later this week.
In the meantime, thank you once again for your generosity and support with this event.

Whole School Photo

Luckily the weather held yesterday morning for the mammoth task of getting the whole school together for a photograph.

This event only happens once every 4 years, and gives families the opportunity to have a super memento if they wish to.  We'll be sending out links to orders when the photographers have the final product to share.
