Reverend Chris Davey lead our assembly this morning reminding us about Remembrance Day and how many people sacrificed their lives and died for us in order that we may live in a more peaceful place. Chris recounted the story from World War 1 about when the German and English soldiers were able to find peace on Christmas Day singing carols together and playing football despite it being a time of severe conflict. On Monday we will be having our two minute silence to mark the occasion of Remembrance Day.
We also celebrated some of our successes at the cross-country
event where many schools across Suffolk took part. Congratulations to the children who finished first, second
and third in their age group. Well done
to everyone who ran – we took a team of 76 children from our school to compete
against other local schools.
Finally, we introduced and met the newest member to our school family – Pumpkin, a
Russian dwarf hamster. He is settling well into school life at the
moment in Class VW but will be visiting other classrooms once he is settled.
