The Sound of Music

On Wednesday 30th January, the year six’s went to London for one day. After we went to The National Gallery, Saint James Park to feed the ducks (also the seagulls!) we caught the bus to the Palladium to see The Sound Of Music. It was a brilliant performance with excellent actors and musicians. It is the story of The Von Trapp Family, it starts off with Maria, the nun, who was sitting on a hill whilst all the other nun’s where praying in the abbey. As a result of this Maria was sent away from the abbey for a few months to be a governess for seven children. It turned out that the children’s father was an old Naval captain and has banned m
usic from the Von Trapp household ever since his wife died. On the other hand Maria loved to sing and even

taught the children how too! After she heard the children sing
she thought they were magnificent and showed them how to make up songs of there own. Eventually they showed their talent to father who didn’t approve at first. He then held a great party where him and Maria realised they where meant to be together. Once they had got married they agreed to sing in the Slozberg music festival where they had to escape from the Nazis. In the end they escaped by climbing over the mountain and travelled to Switzerland.

We would give it 10/10 !
