PHILIPPINES APPEAL
We are really pleased to let parents know that at end of last term we raised a whopping £1314 for the Philippines Appeal; this is a combination of donations from the pupils for non-uniform day, collections from the Christmas productions and Carol Service and staff donations. This will be sent via Christian Aid.  Thank you to everyone for your generosity to this cause.

PARENT COUNCIL - SECURITY
Some parents have expressed concerns to the Parent Council over security, when leaving their children on the playground in the mornings, worried that they might wander out through the gates. It was felt that if parents could avoid gathering near to the wooden gates and at the bottom of the steps, the staff on duty would be better able to monitor these areas. Also when the bell goes and the children line up, the teachers can’t always see if all the children are in their lines so if parents could stand well back at that point it would be very helpful.
If any parents have a good knowledge of security and are willing to give us some advice about how it might be improved, please contact one of the Parent Council.
If you would like to read the minutes from any of the Parent Council meetings, you will find them on the Parent Information area of the school’s website.

PARENTS EXITING THE PLAYGROUND IN THE MORNING
Please can parents WAIT for class KV & RV to use the steps to get to their class before trying to exit the school towards College Road in the mornings. There is not enough space for the children to get to their classes safely with parents also using these steps.  Thank you.

SECOND HAND UNIFORM SALE
The parent council are planning to hold a second hand uniform sale, later in the spring or early summer. If you have any unwanted uniform, in good condition, that you could donate, please bring it to the school office.

BAG2SCHOOL COLLECTION
The Friends are delighted to let parents know that the charity bag collection in November has raised £230, which is brilliant.  There is another collection on 27 February for any of you who are planning a Spring clear-out!
