As part of our Friday afternoon enrichment sessions, Class SB has been exploring the world of theatre through the story of The Lion King. Throughout the half-term, the children have learned about performance, storytelling and characterisation. To celebrate the end of our topic, the children used the shadow puppets they had created in class while their classmates narrated the script, working together to put on a wonderful shadow theatre performance. It was fantastic to see their creativity, confidence and teamwork shine through as they shared their learning in such an engaging way.

Year 5 and 6 Explore the Light of Christingle.
Year 5 and 6 have been busy learning about Christingles in class. Together, they made a few Christingles while exploring the special meaning and symbolism behind each part. It was a lovely, hands-on way to learn about this Christian tradition, and the fresh oranges made our classrooms smell wonderful too!

A little bit of Courage.....
This week the Worship team and the year 6 house captains led our whole school assemblies around the value for this half term - courage. The year 6 house captains told the school about personal experiences where they had to show courage. The worship team shared three bible stories and explained how courage was shown in them. The story of Jonah; David and Goliath and Daniel and the Lions. We continue life around school showing courage and also following our vision of Learning, Caring and Inspiring in the Light of Jesus.

Discovering the Meaning of the Eucharist in Class AL
This week in Class AL, we explored the Christian understanding of the Eucharist in our Christian Living lesson. We learned how Christians remember Jesus’ Last Supper and why bread and wine are important symbols of His love and sacrifice. We looked at passages from the Bible and talked about what they mean for believers today. To show our learning, we designed our own postcards with messages and drawings about the Eucharist.

Playground Fun
The children are thoroughly enjoying the new markings on both playgrounds that were laid down over half term. They are super bright & lots of fun!
We are pleased to have been able to use some of this year's Sports Premium funding to cover the costs of this, which will help encourage the children to do extra physical activity at playtimes.

From Wonka to Wormwood: Bravo to Our Brilliant Hosts!
Upper Key Stage 2 have recently enjoyed the fantastic opportunity to attend two exceptional and truly inspirational local theatre productions. We were invited to watch Thomas Mills High School’s wonderful take on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and this week we visited Framlingham College for their impressive show of Matilda. The children really enjoyed both performances and were inspired by the talent and dedication shown by the pupils and staff at each school, and we are very grateful for such warm invitations and memorable experiences.
