As scientists we have been finding out about electrical and non-electrical items as part of our "Electricity" topic for science. We discussed the sources of electricity and why some are mains powered, battery powered or neither.
We were given a challenge to make circuits using the various components – cell, wires, bulb, bulb holder and batteries. We explored these components to work out how to make the circuit. With a lot of problem solving, team work, trial and error everyone managed to make a circuit.
The
challenge was to then add another light bulb in to the circuit to observe what
happened. There some great thinking and discussion
evolved from this.
At
the end of the lesson we set up a circuit with two bulbs and two cells – wow! It truly was a lightbulb moment which we all had!!
