An incredible performance from SRH boys and girls saw both teams become County Champions on Saturday morning in Bury St Edmunds.
There were 6 teams in each competition - district champions from each part of Suffolk.
The teams all had to play each other in a league format.
Our boys won 4 and drew one of their games - only conceding 1 goal in their 5 games thanks to the superb defending of George, Scott, Zac (in goal). and the all round excellence of Ethan - the captain. The crucial game was against St Christopher's Primary, Newmarket. They had 2 talented boys in the Tottenham Academy. SRH were 1-0 down at half time but put in a brilliant 2nd half performance with Oli Mayhew scoring 2 great goals. Josh, Harrison, Dylan, Charlie and Shaun also played with great skill and effort as forwards throughout the 5 games.
SRH girls also won 4 of their 5 games and only conceded 1 goal in a narrow loss to Westley Middle. The girls sealed the title with a dramatic and gutsy final match vs The Oaks from Ipswich. Needing a win SRH went into an early lead with Georgie following in a great shot from Amelia Skeggs - these 2 were outstanding in all 5 games. The girls then defended and worked with every last drop of energy to keep out the opposition. This was a great effort by Phoebe (solid and brave in defence throughout), Charlotte, Olya, Mollie (in goal), Millie and Daisy.
This was a fantastic day for the school - the first time we have won County titles in football. All of our players were a credit to their families (who were all there watching) and to Framlingham.
