Newsletter 27

SECOND HAND UNIFORM SALE SUCCESS
We are very pleased with how well the uniform sale went last week.  Members of the parent council did a fantastic job; they raised £121 which will be put towards a selection of new books for the school library about clothing and textiles.  Special thanks go to Mrs Mackenzie who collected and sorted the uniform and to Mrs Walker and Mrs Nathan who gave up their evenings on both nights to run the sale.

MUSIC SURVEY FOR PLDD & RV
Thank you to the parents who returned the class instrument lesson survey, the results are now being analysed in order to make decisions about this offer going forward.  We will keep parents informed.

READING WORKSHOP – THURSDAY 27 MARCH
Parents should have received a leaflet about a Reading Workshop which is being run for ALL parents and any volunteer reading helpers.  It will be held on Thursday 27 March at 2.15pm in the school hall. It will help parents support their child’s reading, so do come along.

FORGOTTEN PE/SWIM/CLUB KIT & MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
Please can we remind children & parents to remember to bring in their PE/Swim/Club kit or musical instrument on the relevant day for lessons/clubs in school.
From next term the office will not be ringing parents to request forgotten kit/instruments, so if your child forgets their kit/instrument they will not be able to do their lesson/club.

PLEASE ADD YOUR CHILD’S NAME/ CLASS TO THE BACK OF CHEQUES
Please can we ask parents to put your child/rens name/s & class/es on the back of any cheques you hand in to school.  Without this information it is difficult for the finance team to reconcile payments to the correct child, this is especially important if your cheques have a different surname to your child.  Thank you for your co-operation.

FRIENDS EASTER DISCO – FRIDAY 28 MARCH
REMEMBER this is a TICKET ONLY EVENT – you must complete ALL the details on the form and send in with payment before the deadline of Tuesday 25 March to avoid disappointment.

FOOTBALL CARDS
Some children have been trading football cards in school. We recommend that children do not bring in possessions like football cards as this can lead to arguments and if they go missing they cannot be returned to their rightful owner as they are not named.

BIKEABILITY CYCLE TRAINING – YEAR 5/6
Just a reminder that the new Bikeability training is on this Thursday & Friday for pupils who applied from class EM & then next Thursday & Friday for those who applied from class JA (& DB/PASB).  Remember to ensure your cycles are roadworthy and bring them in on the relevant days.

READING HELPERS NEEDED
Class PLDD needs more reading help Monday pm, Tuesday 10am or Friday am.
Class KM also need more reading help – please see the teachers directly if you can help.

We would like to encourage all families to have these Weekly Whole School Newsletters by email…

In order to reduce the amount of paper we use as a school to help not only save the environment but also to save the school budget, we are encouraging all parents to request these weekly newsletters via email rather than receiving a paper copy.  This only applies to the whole school newsletters, not to letters for trips, or ones that are relevant only to some classes; those will still be produced in paper format as many of these have reply slips that need completing & returning.
Please can you supply your email address below so that we may add you to the mailing list:
Email address _____________________________________________________
Child’s Name _____________________________________  Class ___________
Parent Signature ___________________________________ Date ___________
Please note we will not pass your email address on to anyone else, we send the whole school letters as Blind Carbon Copy (BCC).

IF YOU ALREADY RECEIVE WEEKLY NEWSLETTERS BY EMAIL YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING
