This will be held in the Music Room on Thursday this week, those volunteers attending should sign in at the office at 8.50am, please.

LATE ARRIVALS
The number of pupils arriving late to school is increasing.  Any child who arrives late is marked as such in the register & the Education Welfare Officer requires this information reported on a termly basis.  When children arrive late into class it is disturbing, both to the late child as they will have missed crucial learning time and to all the other children as it interrupts them.  Many children who arrive late are unsettled and this makes it hard for them to concentrate.  We ask that parents make every effort to ensure that your child arrives on time, between 8.30 and 8.40am on the playground.  If they arrive after 8.50am you must sign them in at the office.

POPPY THANKS
We are delighted to let you know that the recent Poppy Appeal in school raised £164.  Thank you to everyone who bought a Poppy.

PLEASE DON’T BLOCK DOOR ACCESS OUTSIDE RV/NS
We must ask that parents do not wait outside this doorway before school as the playground supervisors can’t see past them to make sure that none of the children have left the playground.
At the end of the day, we also ask that parents don’t wait here to try to ‘grab’ their child before they go down to the playground, as this causes blockages.
If you want your child to meet you by the railings on this side of school, then please fill in a ‘Walk Home Alone’ slip, stating this is where you want them to meet you.

VACANCY – EATs CATERING FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT
There is a vacancy for a Food Service Assistant in the kitchen for 1 hour each day. The rate of pay is £7.11 per hour.  If you are interested please contact Mrs Chapman in the school kitchen.

sited at the top of the stairs from the Nursery on the landing.

           pupils’ first name and surname and class:
     Nursery;  CH Mrs Hopkins;  KM Mrs Mawson;  CA Miss Ashberry;
     LC Mrs Cann; JC Mrs Colchester; PLDD Mrs Lord/Mrs Dwyer;

School Team Wins North Suffolk Football Tournament

Yesterday SRH tok 2 teams to the annual tournament at Stradbroke High School.
There were a record 27 teams taking part this year - divided into 5 groups.
The SRH A team won all of their group games scoring 10 goals and conceding none.

Our young B team played with great skill but struggled to score against older opposition - losing 1-0 on 3 occasions and winning their last game 1-0.

Action shots from our B team matches.

Our A Team (with only 1 member of last years' County Champions) progressed to a tough looking quarter-final against Debenham. However, Framlingham managed to contain their very talented captain and score 2 excellent goals to win a high quality match 2-0.

In the semi-final Framlingam were playing with huge self confidence and cruised into a 2-0 lead against Wortham. There was a worrying last few minutes when Framlingham conceded a penalty (the only goal against all day) but managed to hold on for a 2-1 win.

In the final, Framlingham played against Gislingham (from near Beccles) and again scored 2-0 good goals and could have scored many more. The team controlled possession and territory to emerge as well deserved champions.

Framlingham will now get the chance to defend their County title in January.

Chess Club on Thursday Lunchtimes

Thursday lunchtimes have seen Mr Byer with a room full of children (from years 5 and 6) learning how to play chess. It has been great to see so many girls taking part this year.

After Christmas Mr Byer will be running a tournament.

Poppy Tributes Around School

Nursery poppies above and below....
We made our poppies by using red paint and a potato to print the petals, a green felt tip to draw a straight line for the stalk and then we put glue in the middle and sprinkled on black sesame seeds to finish it off. We talked about how we wear a poppy to help us remember the people who have died for us in the wars. We were all absolutely silent for one minute at 11.00 and we enjoyed looking at the photographs Mrs Cooper had taken of the ceramic poppies at the Tower of London.
