Yesterday, the KS2 children had an exciting Wow! Day to launch our new topic, Rocks, Relics, and Rumbles.
The day was filled with a variety of hands-on activities designed to engage the children and spark their curiosity. Activities included creating volcanic art, designing a collaborative art piece using recycled materials, making ‘chatterboxes’, conducting mini explosions, and building a diagram of the ‘Layers of the Earth’.
The children moved through a carousel of activities, working in teams to complete each task. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and perseverance were outstanding as they collaborated, problem-solved, and expressed their creativity.
It was wonderful to see them fully immersed in the topic, applying both their practical and critical thinking skills to each new challenge.
This Wow Day set the stage for
an exciting and engaging term ahead, and we look forward to seeing how the
children continue to explore and develop their understanding of rocks, relics,
and natural phenomena throughout the topic.
