FOREST SCHOOL

WEEK 6 - CLASS LH

The children started their last week at Robin Wood by making a crown from willow and decorating it with natural resources.

While some children played using the skills they have learnt over the last few weeks, some children celebrated by decorating bunting with natural dye and using elder to create beads for bracelets.

We finished the session playing the children's favourite game of  'Eagle Eyes'.

Crossing Patrol Thanks!

Sadly, Mrs Wright our Crossing Patrol is leaving her role with us tomorrow, the children made her a lovely card and gave her some flowers in Assembly this week to say a big Thank you! for keeping us safe crossing College Road.

BOOKS!

Here are just a small selection of the wonderful new Reading Scheme books that the school has recently been able to purchase, thanks to the huge fundraising events put on by the Friends through the year and the pupils through the Hitcham's Hundreds fundraising.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

Our Harvest Service in the Church of Saint Michael in Framlingham on Friday 12 October was packed out, with standing room only at the back.
Each class contributed to the service and the Worship Team stood alongside Rev Sanders and Mrs Picton to receive the gifts.
Graham Reardon who is a lay preacher and volunteer at the Waveney Food Bank spoke to us about the important work that the food bank does in the local area, and it's growing importance.
The retiring collection raised £144 for WaterAid.  This charity works to help people across the world have access to clean water.
Both charities work to help people in their daily lives and we are pleased and proud to be able to support them.

AFTER SCHOOL FOOTBALL CLUB SUCCESS 2018

A big thank you to the children for making the after school football club so phenomenally fun! We are looking forward to the sessions in the weeks ahead.

VW PASB HOUSE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2018

Today, fifty-six pupils from VW and PASB combined to play in a house football competition. During the games, the children were ready, respectful and safe whilst contesting to win. We were proud to see some incredibly strong relationships between the children which made the whole event very enjoyable; despite the weather!

The children noticed Mr Peck had not updated the score board properly!
The final results are below:

SPORTS LEADERS AT SRH 2018

I would like to thank sixteen very special sports leaders for officiating two recent events. These children were invited to attend training at lunch time and officiate games as referees. Between them, they officiated games for over one hundred and twenty pupils. During the events, they were the perfect role-models for our children.

RH LC KVJA HOUSE HANDBALL RESULTS 2018

On Thursday 11th October, we held a Handball Festival for seventy-six children. We were blessed to have fifteen sports leaders from VW and PASB officiate this for us. All of the children showed beautiful conduct and a good will to win. Coupled with the sunshine, this made it a marvellous experience.

JT/SC HOUSE NETBALL COMPETITION 2018

On Monday 8th October, JT and SC combined to play a house tournament. Each house were divided into 2 mixed groups. During the process, the children showed great teamwork, compassion and energy. We thank them for making the experience so enjoyable.

Well done to Howard.

Hitcham's Head chef

Well the year 5 children continued to impress us in our Hitcham's Head chef competition yesterday. This week we were treated to Sausage plait, Turkey burgers with arab salad and sumac sauce and Spaghetti alla carbonara.
The enthusiasm and excitement of the children was contagious and a wonderful afternoon was had by all, including our guest judges and a large number of visiting teachers. Huge thanks to Mr Ryall and Mrs Chapman this week for doing the impossible judging job.

I'm particularly excited as the children have already told me that they will be practising for next year! I can't wait.

It is the final week next week with the results to be shared after half term.

Nursery Harvest celebration

Today we invited our grown ups in for a special Harvest Celebration! The children sang The farmer gathers, Big red combine harvester and Dingle dangle scarecrow before we said our Harvest prayer. It was wonderful to see so many grown ups coming to support the children, thank you. We were incredibly proud of how well they did!
