Here is a snapshot of our Enchanted Woodland Topic in Class KH! We have had lots of fun making tree boggarts, fairy and elf wands, fairy cakes and writing a diary as Stickman.

Cookery Club
Year 5's are turning into chefs on a Wednesday morning.
We are making beef cobbler. We chop lots of vegetables and with the mince we simmer them together in a lovely stock to which we add herbs and spices.
The herbie scones that we make, create a lovely topping. While it is cooking in the oven, we look at the 'Eatwell plate' and explore if we have cooked a balanced meal.
When it is cooked we all have a taste! Most children are surprised that they actually enjoy eating it!
Class JT
Following creating still life art work and performing our pumpkin poem in assembly and at church, Class JT have used pumpkin to make delicious cupcakes. We discussed the ingredients needed to make the cupcakes and measured out the correct quantities following a set recipe. The smell that engulfed the downstairs corridor whilst they were baking was amazing and as they baked the children anticipated how they would taste. Hopefully the children all enjoyed eating their cakes especially with the knowledge they included one of their five a day!

Week in MS
As mathematicians we have been exploring rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1,000. We learnt the different rules for rounding and which columns give us the clues to know when to round up and down. To help reinforce this we played a rounding game against a partner to test our rounding skills.

FRIENDS DISCO
What a fantastic dazzling night the children had on Friday at the Friends Autumn Discos.
Huge thanks go to the Friends for organising the two events and also to all the volunteers who helped the evening run so smoothly.
Crucial Crew
Today, Year 6 attended ‘Crucial Crew’ at the Riverside Centre.
The children had a fantastic time and gained lots of useful health and safety knowledge on fire awareness, electrical safety, farm safety, drugs and alcohol, first aid, water safety, etc.
They particularly enjoyed the fire safety demonstration and the smoke simulator!
Royal Residencies research
Last week, Class VW conducted some research on 7 royal residences in the UK.
In order to achieve this, the children used the internet and tried to be discerning as to the website sources they chose to access for reliable information.
The children then worked on converting note form into cohesive paragraphs.

Nursery Harvest
The Nursery children celebrated their Harvest Thanksgiving on Wednesday.
We sang lots of songs and we had a wonderful time with our parents and carers during the 'Stay & Play' session.
Take a look at us singing the Big Red Combine Harvester song on the Facebook page.
Harvest Celebrations
Thank you to all the families for your generous donations to the Waveney Food Bank today at our special Harvest Festivals.
The children in Reception and Key Stage one delivered the first of two wonderful services at St Michael's Church. This was followed by the children in KS2.
Parents were invited to come along and we hope they enjoyed the uplifting singing.
The piles of tins and packets of food will be taken to the Waveney Food Bank to help support those in need in the community.
Maths in VW
Year 6 children in Class VW have been persevering with their maths skills.
Recently, they've been looking at square and cube numbers and have just moved onto the Order of Operations. Most have really enjoyed getting to grips with BODMAS.
