Inspired by the special Remembrance collective worship, class LH/MBr created their own wreaths.
As we made the wreaths we thought about all the families affected by war both then and now.
Class JT have been painting beautiful poppies in water colours to commemorate Remembrance Day. The children have been working hard on their fine motor skills to create detail in their work.
As a class, we have really thought about what we are thankful for. We have spent time talking about how people in the past have made it possible to live the lives we do today.
Lest we forget...

Note
re Reception Children - Experience has taught us that Reception children find
Film Nights quite overwhelming and can become quite upset. With wellbeing at the forefront of our minds,
and in discussion with the school, the Friends feel the Film Night can only be
reasonably managed with children in Year 1 upwards.
The whole school held a short service of Remembrance on the front playground this morning.
Rev Chris Davey kindly led our service to mark this important occasion, where the children quietly and respectfully reflected during the two-minute silence.
We thank Benjamin Ratcliff from Thomas Mills High School for playing the last post so beautifully.
If you have set up NOTIFICATIONS in Parent Mail, to get a message to your personal email account when we post a message/form on ParentMail, then please be aware that there is currently an issue.
We are working with the ParentMail IT team, but for the moment they recommend that PARENTS CHECK THE PARENTMAIL APP on a daily basis to ensure no messages or forms are missed.

On Wednesday children from Years 3,4,5 and 6 competed in a cross-country event at Framlingham College. Lots of children took part from other schools and it was lots of fun. All the children tried their best and should be extremely proud of themselves for running the course which was true cross-country conditions and very muddy! The children’s sportsmanship and enthusiasm shone throughout the afternoon. Very well done to all the children who took part!
In Nursery today, as part of the whole school's STEM day, we made homes or nests for hibernating hedgehogs using different equipment around the Nursery classroom.
Today, the whole school are taking part in STEM activities.
Miss. Whipps launched the day and described what STEM means.
We learned about some of the skills required and talked about the need to work collaboratively, share ideas, use ‘Trial and Error’ strategies and most importantly, enjoy ourselves.
KS2 are completing a carousel of activities: making periscopes, ink chromatography, paper airplanes (testing different designs), ‘Scratch’ coding on the computers, parachute making and castle construction.
The children appear to be having great fun and engaging with the activities.

This week saw the launch of the weekly "Love of Reading" across Key Stage 1 and Reception.
We opened our doors and welcomed parents from Classes DR, MB, KM, KH and JT to come and share books with their children. There was a super atmosphere as parents shared a variety of books with children - some great expressive voices were being modelled too! It was lovely to see children enjoying being read to.
Don't forget this is a WEEKLY opportunity for you to drop in and enjoy reading a book or two with your child.
Every Tuesday for Key Stage 1 at 2.50pm. Do come along!!
The school IS CLOSED TODAY due to the dangerous conditions caused by high winds and floods which will impact on families and staff trying to get to and from school.
Due to these severe weather conditions, in conjunction with Thomas Mills High School and other local pyramid schools, we have made the decision to close the school.
We expect school will be open on Friday, but will inform parents if it will remain closed.
If your child wishes to do some school work today, they may do a study on Guy Fawkes, and in addition, KS2 children could practise their times tables & spellings.
