OLYMPIC TORCH EVENT DETAILS & COACH TIMINGS – Thursday 5 July We have now got the approximate timings for arriving back in Framlingham after we have seen the Olympic Torch next week: 5.05-5.15pm for KM, CH, CA, JC - PLUS ANY OLDER SIBLINGS of children in these 4 classes 5.50-6.00pm
Collect your child from the front playground. No-one will be allowed back into school.
Children will eat lunch at school before we go and do not need to bring any other food. Children who are having a packed lunch on this day should please bring it in in a NAMED PLASTIC BAG rather than a lunch box.
All children will need a rain-coat, and a sun-hat if the forecast is good. Children may bring cameras if they wish, but the school can take no responsibility for any loss or damage. for LC, KT, RV, PLDD, EM, NS, DB, GAJB - UNLESS there is a younger sibling in one of the 4 classes above who they will travel with. ORANGE PERMISSION SLIPS SENT OUT ON THURSDAY MUST BE RETURNED – if you do not return this your child cannot go.
REPORTS OUT ON FRIDAY – 6 JULY Pupils in Year 1-6 will be given their reports Friday, please remind your children that the reports are addressed to parents and should not be opened until they are handed over to you.
PARENT CONSULTATIONS – 11 & 12 JULY If you feel that you would like to speak to your child’s teacher about the report, they will be available for Parent Consultations on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 July between 3.30-6pm, however Year 6 consultations will be the following week.
The letter included with the report explains how to make an appointment if required. Reception teachers will also be seeing parents on these days, please book via the same system even though Reception children will not receive a report. Nursery will be having parent consultations for the children moving up to Reception during the day of Thursday 12 July – please sign up for a timeslot on the list outside Nursery.
NO CHOIR – Thursday 5 or 12 July Due to the Olympic Torch event on 5 July and Maisie being unavailable on 12 July, there will be no afterschool choir on these days. The last one will be on Thursday 19 July when parents may come and sit in on the session to listen to the Choir in action.
CRICKET SUCCESS Well done to the Year 5/6 Cricket teams – the boys were convincing winners of the County tournament and go on to play in the Eastern Regional tournament on 5 July.

STAFF CHANGES FOR SEPTEMBER 2012 We would like to advise parents that the staff/class structure for next year will remain the same. The only changes to the teaching staff will be that Mrs Bell will not be teaching Year 6, and we are currently recruiting for a part-time teacher who will join Mrs Armstrong with her year 6 class. Class lists will be sent home on Friday 13 July not with the Reports on Friday.
MISS TREEN IS GETTING MARRIED We are sure many of you may know already, but Miss Treen is to be married during the summer holidays. We would like to offer her and her future husband many congratulations on their special day. In September she will return to school as Mrs Venton and her class will be known as Class KV.
NEW CLASS MOVES & YEAR 6 TO TMHS – Monday 16 July On the last Monday of term all the children will spend part of the morning with their new class and teacher for next year. All year 6 children going to Thomas Mills in September will spend the day there, walking up from school at 10am and returning before 3pm. They will have a school meal free of charge from the High School cafeteria that day, so no packed lunch or dinner money needs to be brought in that day.
SCC CATERING – TORCHBEARER’S LUNCH – Tuesday 17 July SCC Catering are providing a special themed lunch on this date – menu will be at the office.
LEAVERS’ SERVICE – Thursday 19 July 1.30pm The Leavers’ Service will be held at St Michael’s Church on Thursday 19 July at 1.30pm. Year 6 parents are warmly welcomed to this event. Pupils in classes DB, GA/JB, NS and EM will attend with any younger siblings of Year 6 children who are in other classes.
MORRISONS ‘LET IT GROW’ SCHEME If you receive ‘Let it Grow’ vouchers when you shop in Morrison’s there will be a school collection box for them outside the office from September until 28 October. Thank you.
CATHEDRAL ART AT ST MICHAEL’S CHURCH The art work that the Y5's in EM did for the R.E.S.P.E.C.T. exhibition in Bury Cathedral will be on display from next week at St Michael’s Church, it will be there all through the summer holidays, so children and families can visit the church to view it.
JUNIOR ROAD SAFETY OFFICERS SUCCESS On Thursday, two of our Year 5 JRSOs Keisha and Saranna went to the Council Chambers at Suffolk County Council, Endeavour House for the Junior Road Safety Officers of the Year awards. Congratulations to our JRSOs who scooped a Gold certificate for the work they have done this year in raising awareness of road safety through the school. Thanks must also go to Mrs Turner who has helped the team this year.
SUMMER READING CHALLENGE 2012 – FRAMLINGHAM LIBRARY To encourage children to read over the summer holiday, Framlingham Library are running a free ‘reading challenge’, this year’s theme is for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad reading Stories from around the world.
