Newsletter 17

Please pay for Christmas lunch on Monday 17 December
The cost for the week is £11.50, the day £3.10, or an additional £1.00 is required if you have paid for the whole term but not for the Christmas lunch yet.
*******Please note there is NO Nursery Lunch club on this day*********

DINNER MONEY MUST BE PAID ON A MONDAY please hand it to the class teacher in an envelope.  If you do not pay on a Monday (unless your child was ill) you will need to provide a packed lunch for your child for that week.
Cheques are the preferred form of payment, rather than cash (payable to SCC) and if possible, it is best to pre-pay for a half term at a time.
Parents can, for example, pay for 2 days a week for the half term, and then the child can choose on a Monday which days they would like lunch for that week.  Any payments not used during the half term can be carried over to the next term, or refunded on request.

PHONICS WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS – Tuesday 15 January 2013
There will be a Phonics Workshop from 1.30 – 3.00 on this date for parents with children in Foundation and Key Stage 1.  This, we hope, will help you understand the ‘synthetic phonic’ approach.  We will also be introducing you to an exciting new scheme which includes access to on-line e-books for the children.

PROCEDURES FOR CHILDREN WITH SICKNESS BUGS
We would like to bring to parent’s attention that if your child suffers from a sickness or diarrhoea bug that they should be kept off school until 48 after the last bout of diarrhoea  or vomiting.
If you bring your child back too early they are likely to pass on the bug to other children.  These are guidelines from the Health Protection Agency.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF ANY BUGS.
ABSENCE MESSAGES ON ANSWER-PHONE
If you are leaving a message in the morning regarding an absence, please can you keep the message short – just the child’s name, class and the reason for the absence?  There is no need to leave contact details etc. At this time of year we tend to have a larger number of absences and this can be a lengthy process to take them all off the machine.  Thank you.
