WORLD BOOK DAY – THURSDAY 5 MARCH
Don’t forget that for World Book Day this Thursday, we would like all children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.
We are also raising funds for Book Aid International (www.bookaid.org) which is a charity that take mobile libraries to developing countries and refugee camps.  Donation of £1 is suggested.

BOOK FAIR IN SCHOOL – FRI 6 – TUES 10 MARCH
This event is an opportunity for parents and children to come to the hall to look at the books that can be bought from the Travelling Book Fair. 
With this letter please find a leaflet with a selection of their books on offer and a
£1 voucher (which can be used towards any purchase). 
Please come along with your children between 3.05-4.00pm on Fri 6 March to Tues 10 March to look at (and order) the books.
Nursery parents can see the books in the Nursery on Monday 9 March at 11.50am or 1.30pm.   
Each class will have the opportunity to visit the book fair during school over the 3 days, for the children to have a good look at them.

REMINDER: CHANGE TO GYM & MULTI-SPORTS CLUBS on Fri 6 & Mon 9 March
Due to the Book Fair in the hall, the Gym Club on Friday 6 March WILL NOT TAKE PLACE, however to make up the 1 hour session, the other 4 sessions : 27 Feb, 13, 20 & 27 March will all run until 4.30pm (15 minutes longer).  The Multi-sports club on Monday 9 March will take place outside, so the children will need to bring suitable outdoor sports kit, including trainers.

1 hour + 15mins, rate of pay is  £6.99 per hour

SPRING REPORTS & PARENT CONSULTATIONS
Reports will be coming home this Friday.  Along with the report you will find a slip to be returned to book an appointment to meet with your children’s class teachers for Parent Consultations on either Wednesday 11 or Thursday 12 March from 3.30pm – 6.00pm.
Parents of PASB wishing to see both Mrs Akerman and Mrs Beddow together would be best to put in an appointment request for the Wednesday.
Please return this slip to your oldest child’s teacher by Tuesday 10 March.

AND NO ART OR ORCHESTRA ON THURSDAY ****

YEAR 6 LEAVERS SERVICE DATE CHANGE
We are sorry we have had to change the date of the Leavers Service, but hope that as we are notifying parents this far in advance it won’t cause a problem.
The new date is: MONDAY 20 JULY at 9.30am in St Michael’s Church.

CROSSING PATROL & ROADWORKS
We would like to extend our grateful thanks to Mrs Wright for managing the crossing of College Road last week in very difficult circumstances with road works in both directions.
We truly value her service here in keeping the children safe, and I am sure the parents do too. Please do not take her for granted!  Thank you.

STAFF NEWS
We are delighted to let you all know that Mrs Venton is expecting her second child in the Summer, we would like to send our Congratulations as I know the children will too!

RED NOSES – SELLING FAST
We are selling Red Noses at the office very quickly, so to avoid disappointment do come and buy one sooner rather than later, if we run out it will give you time to look elsewhere.
The children should bring them back on Red Nose Day, Friday 13 March.

YOUNG ART EAST ANGLIA
We are delighted to announce that 2 of our pupils have been selected to be exhibited at the Peter Pears gallery in Aldeburgh on 13, 14 and 15 March. Congratulations go to Angus in KS1 and Ella in KS2 whose work was chosen from over 1600 entries.
Anyone can go along to see the art work from these pupils and others, entrance fee is £2 per adult (children free) and all proceeds go to Cancer Research UK.

FRIENDS FILM NIGHT SUCCESS
This was a really popular film, and raised £160. The Friends would like say Thank you to all the adults who helped at this event.

VIOLIN CONCERT – WEDNESDAY 18 MARCH 3.15pm
Parents are warmly invited to the annual concert of violin and viola pupils.
It takes place at 3.15 on 18th March in the school hall, and lasts about 30 minutes. It is informal and fun.
Parents and pupils who are considering starting lessons in September are also most welcome.
