Down through the roof

The 'Open the book' assembly was entitled 'Down through the roof'.   Our Key Stage 2 pupils helped to retell the story.

We heard the story about how a man was lowered through the roof to the floor as his friends could not find a way through the crowds to Jesus.  When they reached Jesus, he laid his hand on his head and told him to stand up and walk.

His friends thought that only God could fix things and talk like that.  They wondered who Jesus was and what he meant but they reached out to Jesus and trusted him to change their lives.    Jesus said, "Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or, ‘Get up and walk’?  As the man got up and walked,  they realised how special Jesus was.

Christians can embrace change in our lives and by praying for and asking to help us with change can show our trust in Jesus.
