Encouraging others - assembly

Jonathan Sullivan gave us a very inspiring and interactive assembly about encouraging others.  We shared what encouragement means - giving support, hope and confidence.  He shared the story of the collapse of Jericho and reminded us that Joshua 1:9 says, " Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

He explained the story of how the city of Jericho had soldiers that walked around the city blowing trumpets  - we all helped by blowing our own trumpets.

We were encouraged to say the words "Together with Jesus, we can fix it, yes we can" as Jonathan shared the story of the city collapsing.

At the end, he shared a quiz where Indi, Eve, Euan, Morgan, Mayeni, Amelia Gareth and Jessica were able to answer the questions about the assembly, inlcuding the meaning of words and the bible story.

At the end, we all said the prayer that Jonathan said at the end of each day when he went to Saxtead school.

Lord, Keep us safe this night
Secure from all our fears
May angels guard us while we sleep
Until morning light appears
And help us to remember with Gods help.
