Class work in VWh

Class VWh have been working hard over the last couple of weeks.

In maths, the children have been learning about percentages, decimals and fractions and converting between the different forms. They’ve converted fractions into decimals and learnt how to convert this value into a percentage. They’ve been following the White Rose scheme and develop their fluency using pictorial representations. Today, we’ve progressed onto algebra and begin to get to grips with the rules: the the side, change the operation/ sign by using the inverse and understanding why this needs to happen. The children have been encouraged to use colour to help organise their workings and then check through their final answers.

In Topic and English lessons, the children have been learning about the Victorians, focusing on the Industrial Revolution, school life and workhouses. Additionally, the children started to write narratives based on ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and thought about setting the scene.
