This week, the whole school have been focusing maths.
This culminated in a whole school assembly where the children shared their learning with the rest of the pupils.
- Reception investigated number bonds and 2D shapes to construct pictures
- Year 1/2 studied Katherine Johnson and her important work for NASA and maths occurring in nature
- Year 3/4 looked at number sentences and arrays, along with showing their workings
- Year 4/5 investigated the origins of tangrams
- Year 5 looking at alternative ways of representing numbers to 60.
- Year 5/6 conducted maths investigations into the human impact on our oceans.
- Finally, Year 6 researched mathematicians such as Stephen Hawking and his work on black holes and some studied the Pythagoras Theorem.
It was wonderful to see such a huge range of learning and it was fabulous to see the enthusiasm from the children.
