Class MS were the first class to begin to use our new set of micro:bits. The school received these as part of the BBC's micro:bit giveaway.
Today Class MS learnt how to code a series of instructions so that the micro:bits would display symbols, patterns, letters and words on their LED displays. They learnt how to use the MakeCode website before pairing and downloading their code onto their micro:bit. The children had to ensure that their designs fit onto a 5x5 array pattern so that they would light up correctly when transferred to the micro:bits.
The micro:bits will be available for each class to use as part of their computing lessons as well across other areas of the curriculum as they can be programmed to record and playback sound, track your number of steps, send radio signals and be programmed with simple games for the children to interact with.
