County Hockey Tournament

Yesterday our school hockey team took part in the County Finals at Coppleston High School in Ipswich.
There were 10 teams - each winners of a local tournament - divided into 2 groups of 5.
Framlingham got through to the semi final against Nayland after a series of comfortable wins.
Framlingham won 5-1 to get into the final vs Hadleigh.
Fram played even better in a dramatic final. Unfortunately the other team played a totally male team against us (leaving the 2 girls in their squad as unused subs). Infact Fram were the only team in the tournament to play a mixed team. Most of the teams had no girls at all in their squads.
In the final Fram went 1-0 and 2-1 up but Hadleigh equalised with a few seconds left. The match went into 'golden goal' extra time. Fram scored what appeared to be the winning goal - but it was disallowed. Despite having several more chances Fram could not score and Hadleigh scored the winner to leave Fram as County runners-up. This was still a good achievement - our boys and girls can be proud of the quality of hockey they played.
