Newsletter 44

As Year 6 are at camp this letter will be handed out to the oldest child in each family at school, and emailed as usual.

CLUBS IN LAST FEW WEEKS OF TERM
THIS WEEK w/c 7 July - due to after school teacher meetings with parents the ONLY CLUBS RUNNING AFTER SCHOOL FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK WILL BE Tennis & French (Tuesday), Holy Horrors (Wednesday) and Gym (Friday), Orchestra, Singing club & Recorders will be at the Hitcham Alms Houses on Thursday. All French Clubs finish this week (7-11 July).
NEXT WEEK w/c 14 July - there will be NO LUNCHTIME CLUBS & THE ONLY CLUBS RUNNING AFTER SCHOOL WILL BE Gardening & Fencing (Monday), Reading (Tuesday), Orchestra (Thursday) and Gym (Friday).
This is the last week for County Music Service (Guitar, Brass, Flute & Clarinet).
FINAL 3 DAYS OF TERM w/c 21 July - NO LUNCHTIME CLUBS & THE ONLY CLUB RUNNING AFTER SCHOOL WILL BE for Fencing (Monday).

*****CALLING ALL FOUNDATION & KS1 CHILDREN****
On Tuesday 15 July bring your bear to school to join us in aid of the Royal National Institiute for the Blind (RNIB).
Michael Rosen, the author of “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest reading session.  He will lead 1000 children in a recital of this picture book which celebrates it’s 25th anniversary.
We have the opportunity to join with this in the morning as it is streamed live to school.
A donation of 50p-£1 is requested for the RNIB charity that is involved with this national event.
ALADDIN PRODUCTION SUCCESS
The year 6 pupils gave some truly spectacular performances last week with their show ‘Aladdin Trouble’ at the Headmaster Porter Theatre at Framlingham College.  Look out for the photos on the BLOG.  All the children and staff worked so hard to create a series of memorable performances.    
Thanks to the Friends and Governors who ran 2 raffles over the 2 days, raising £100 & £180 respectively for the school.  Thank you to everyone who kindly donated prizes or purchased tickets.

SUFFOLK UNDER 11 SWIMMING
Well done to 8 of our Year 5/6 pupils who swam at the County Swimming Finals in Bury St Edmunds on Friday.  They all did really well and were a credit to the school.

GUITAR FOR SEPTEMBER
All pupils who returned the form to start/continue with Guitar in September have been successful.  If you wish to check then please see the office.

LEAVERS’ SERVICE – Tuesday 22 July 9.30am
The Leavers’ Service will be held at St Michael’s Church on Tuesday 22 July in the morning at 9.30am.  Year 6 parents are warmly welcomed to this event.  Pupils in classes JA and EM will attend plus any other younger siblings of Year 6 children.

FRIENDS (NEARLY) END OF TERM CAKE STALL – Friday 18 July 3pm
Classes CH & KM will be baking for this cake stall on Friday in the Playground.  Please remember to bring in some pocket money to buy a sweet treat!

Please can we ask that no more certificates / medals etc are brought in to be presented in Assembly as we cannot fit them in before the end of term.  Thank you.
