NEW CURRICULUM KITCHEN LAUNCH
We are delighted that the launch of our New Curriculum Kitchen was a great success on Friday.  Invited members of the local press, Governors, Diocese (who funded the project) and the Hitcham’s Trust (who are funding ingredients for this year’s Food Technology lessons), watched as the brilliant local chef Peter Harrison did a fabulous cookery demonstration with a small group of pupils – making homemade ravioli & sauce and pizza.  This was followed by the formal opening of the recently covered lunchtime courtyard, where the children & guests tucked into the delicious food!
We thank Peter for giving us his time and for providing all the ingredients for the event.
Please keep an eye on the local press, including the Suffolk  Magazine and the Today Magazine for articles that they should be publishing.  Of course, there are photos on the school BLOG too.

SPECIAL MENUS – YEAR 3’s FAVOURITE CHOICE
The whole school will be able to enjoy the menu chosen by Year 3
(which will replace the normal choice for that day) on Tuesday 3 February.
The menu with the most votes is Pizza with Garlic Bread and Sweetcorn, followed by Chocolate Crunch and Sauce.
The children also volunteered a few new menu ideas which Mrs Chapman will follow up with EATs Catering.
An EATs catering nutritionist will be doing some taste-testing with the children with some of the EATs new menu ideas in the hall this Friday lunchtime.

PARENT PARKING - DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE ON THE SCHOOL DRIVE OR USE IT AS A TURNING AREA – YOU ARE CAUSING A DANGER TO OTHER CHILDREN & PARENTS.
There is no reason that parents should have to park anywhere on the school drive, either in front of the gates or in the staff car park.
·         If you are late with your child, you should still find a safe place to park and then walk up to sign your child in at the office.
·         If you are collecting from a club you should not use the staff car park, but should park in the Elms car park.
·         We have had strong complaints from a few parents about others who park on the school drive or on double yellow lines or have just blocked New Road who are causing a danger to others.
We have reported these incidents to the police.

NEW SAFETY BANNER ON COLLEGE ROAD
Because of the failure of a few parents to abide by safe and legal parking, with the support of the Junior Road Officers at school we have now put up a large banner on the railings on College Road opposite Vyces Road, where we have had a number of dangerous situations in the past.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE CONSIDERATE PARKERS WE HAVE AMONGST OUR PARENTS.

NEW LOST PROPERTY LOCATION
With some of the funds raised from the recent uniform sale, we have purchased a new dedicated lost property module that is now located near the office.
If your child is missing any items, please ask at the office who will direct you to the new location to have a search!

HOLY HORRORS – IN CHURCH THIS WEEK
As per the original letter from Holy Horrors, please remember they will be in Church this week, so will need to be collected from there and not from school.

YEAR 6 LONDON TRIP
Do take a look on the school BLOG for some great photos of the Year 6 pupils enjoying a day in London, at the Houses of Parliament & the British Museum.
They also had a meeting with Dr Dan Poulter, MP, in one of the wonderful meeting rooms above the House of Commons, where they were able to have a ‘Q&A’ session with him.

MISSING LIBRARY SERVICE BOOKS
In a recent count by the Suffolk Library Service it appears that we are still missing over 100 books that should have been returned to them.  PLEASE CAN WE ASK YOU ALL TO HAVE A HUNT AT HOME for any books with the Suffolk Schools Library Service stamp in.  They will be charging us for every missing book which means that we will have less budget to buy books in the future – please help!!
