Today, VWh commenced their maths lesson with some bar modelling exercises as it is ‘Barvember’.
Bar models provide an excellent way of visually portraying a problems in order to make it easier to understand and explain.
After lots of discussion, we continued with our current focus: adding and subtracting.

It is a brilliant way of getting children to solve problems and visualise reasoning scenarios.
