The Year 3 & 4 children in the KVJA & SBRH bubble had wonderful weather for their Sports Day last Tuesday - all sorts of track and field events took place, with the children competing for their House.
We still have the Year 6 event this week and on Friday we will announce the House that wins Sports Week 2021.

Our Year 6 House Captains took responsibility for launching all our Sports Days for each bubble - they did a grand job at the start of each event.
Nursery had a very energetic time first thing on Wednesday morning up at the field for their Sports Day.

Class LH have continued to find out about the Queen, her family, her role and her interests as part of the “Bright Lights, Big City”.
We have also been learning how to draw faces accurately and have then gone on to draw the Queen’s portrait using one of her real portraits as inspiration. We carefully drew the eyes and the nose in using a grid and then added in the detail of the mouth and ears. After that we then used watercolours to paint the details using a wash for parts of her face and then adding in a touch of colour for her features, her earrings and tiara.

Our new library units are now in place and today has been spent shifting the books from the old library.
Mrs Borg who is our library coordinator has done a brilliant job in planning the move and has been working with a group of Year 6 children who have been superb in helping to make sure the right books are placed in the right category in the new non-fiction library.
We really look forward to it being ready for use!
Yesterday afternoon the Year 2 children had a marvelous time on our lovely school field taking part in their bubble Sports Day event.
As well as the traditional running races, the children also took part in a hurdle race, an egg and spoon race as well as some field events.
The event was launched with our Year 6 House Captains giving a speech to the children.
The teachers were really impressed with the sportsmanship of all the children, well done to you all!

Classes KM and CH watched a play performed by the Reception staff yesterday, to introduce their new topic ’Can you tell me a story?’
The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have begun lots of fantastic work involved around the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The first bubble event on Monday launched our Sports Week for 2021.
The event opened with the Year 6 House Captains speaking to the Year 4/5 children from Classes AJ & MV who were participating today.
This was followed by a number of track & field events in which the children all took part. The weather was hot, but a lovely breeze helped!

This week in Year 1 , to kick off our new topic we have been preparing for a Royal Tea Party!
The children have designed and written invitations, made decorations and place mats. Learning about royal garden parties, etiquette, good manners and the art of polite conversation has been an important aspect of all of the learning.
Finally on Wednesday, we all enjoyed a fantastic tea party. First the children listened to the National Anthem before being seated. They enjoyed cucumber sandwiches, vanilla cupcakes and chocolate cake. It was quite a feast! All of the children behaved fantastically and displayed absolute impeccable manners. Well done Year One!
