WHOLE SCHOOL LETTER (47)

SPECIAL MENU FOR FRIDAY 4 JULY
SCC Catering are planning a special menu for American Independence Day – look out for the menus in the class rooms and on the parent notice-board.

WHOLE SCHOOL PHOTO
We thought we would let parents know that the panoramic school photo will only be done every 4 years – the next one being 2012, this may help parents decide whether or not to order one this year – deadline for orders is this Friday 4 July.

CHARITY DAY – Change to date now FRIDAY 18 JULY
On Charity Day KS1 and Foundation children will be raising money for ‘Action Medical Research’ by bringing in a Teddy; KS2 children will be raising money for ‘Guide Dogs for the Blind’ by wearing sunglasses. We ask that children please bring in a donation of 50p (or more) and give to their class teacher. Thank you.

PUPIL REPORTS
The end of year reports about your children will be out shortly - Year 1 to Year 5 on 11 July, Year 6 date to be decided (as still awaiting SATs results). These reports are confidential and are addressed to you as parents. We would ask that you advise your children not to open the reports before they get home. Previously we had an incident of this and because one opened their report other younger children copied.

LEAVERS’ SERVICE – MONDAY 21 JULY AT 1.30PM
Our Leavers’ Service will be held at St Michael’s Church on Monday 21 July at 1.30pm. Parents are warmly welcomed to this event. Pupils in Key Stage 2 will attend this service and they will be joined by younger siblings of Year 6 children who are at present in Key Stage 1. Parents are welcome to take their children home from the church although they may have to return to school to collect their belongings.

SIZE OF SCHOOL BAGS
If you are buying a new school bag for September could I please ask you to consider the size as we have limited space on the pegs in school and the smaller the better – drawstring or triangular bags are the best.

YOUNG GIFTED AND TALENTED PROGRAMME
If you or your child have not seen the YG&T website then do visit it at www.ygt.dcsf.gov.uk. The programme aims to provide support, inspiration, encouragement and information to help learners maximise their gifts and talents, whatever they may be. If parents would like to know more they can also speak to Mrs Mawson.
