WHITWELL DAY 2

Hello this is Robert and Jaiden reporting from Whitwell.
Everybody was up quite early today. It was bright and sunny at 6.00am. Some people were cold.
Red group made the breakfast of bacon, eggy bread and cereal. We made our own packed lunches before starting the activities.

Archery was great fun. We learnt how to hold a bow (long bows) and how to aim at the target.
At the end we got to aim at some balloons.

We did pond dipping with John (manager of Whitwell). We caught some two different types of Newt (Great Crested and Smooth), diving beetles, blood worms, boatmen and some sticklebacks.
We also got to see some red squirrels in a special enclosure. The 2 adults have now had 2 babies who are doing really well.

The 3rd activity was orienteering. We had to find 12 control points. Most people found between 5 and 10 of them.

Later in the afternoon we played a football match: RED v BLUE&GREEN. The REDS won 9-8.

There will be more videos tomorrow.
The weather today has been great. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
