School Newsletter 37

WELCOME BACK!
On behalf of the Staff and Governors I would like to welcome all the pupils back for the summer term. I would like to extend a very special welcome to all our new starters in Reception and Nursery and to those who have joined further up the school; I hope they will all soon feel part of our school family.

ROYAL WEDDING CELEBRATIONS – Thursday 28 April
Don’t forget the children are to come dressed as a King, Queen, Prince or Princess tomorrow for our Royal Wedding Celebrations. If they are unable to come in costume, please wear items of clothing that are Red, White and Blue – but NO football kits please.

AMENDMENT TO 2011/2012 ACADEMIC YEAR DATES
It has been brought to our attention that we have mistakenly put next year’s May Bank holiday as 28 May 2012, however, the Government have moved this to Monday 4 June 2012, and have added Tuesday 5 June as a National Holiday for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee; both these dates fall within half term.

DOES YOUR CHILD WEAR GLASSES?
Please can we remind parents of children who wear spectacles that the children should bring their glasses into school with them; this is especially important during SATs practices and tests.

END OF LAST TERM CAKE STALL
The Friends are really pleased to let parents know that they raised £116, thank you to all who supported this event ~ baking or buying!

DIARY DATES FOR THIS TERM
We are producing a separate leaflet with Diary Dates for the rest of this school year. It includes all the club dates, assemblies, sporting events, Friends events and share sessions for the term. It will be distributed to pupils after the Bank Holiday weekend.

MONEY IN SCHOOL
Please note that all money coming into school should be in a sealed envelope, clearly labelled with your child’s name, class, reason for payment and amount. All money should be handed to the class teacher, and dinner money for the week must be handed in on a Monday, thank you.
Cheques must also state your child’s name & class on the reverse please.

COATS
As the British weather is so unpredictable can we please ask that children bring a waterproof coat with them as we still like them to go out at break and lunch times even if the weather is a little wet.
