It has been a busy week this week as we have enjoyed exploring our learning together as some of the children get ready to move to Reception in September.
We have enjoyed using the numicon and pegs to explore number as mathematicians. One child could tell us that 4 and 5 is 9 and used the numicon to prove it to us.
The children have shown a curiosity about the letters in the environment, telling us or asking us what sounds they make. They have been putting the phonic sounds together to practise their oral blending skills too.
We have been using our imaginations to tell stories using the book Story Path, and also working together to act out the children's own stories that we have written down for them.We have been practising writing our names for our turn on the wheeled toys and enjoyed taking turns with games inside and with our obstacle courses outside too.
Outside we have also been looking after our potatoes and enjoyed practising for Sport's Day.
We also enjoyed exploring the different sensations of still and sparkling water as we talked about drinking lots of water to keep healthy, especially on these hot days.
This made some of us laugh as it felt funny on our tongues. Another busy week!
