Class MS Market (Hill) Research

As historians, we have been exploring the history of Framingham Town and the changes which have taken place in the area through time. After studying maps from 1890 and 1950 last week, today we went to the Market Hill to compare the area now to photos from history.

We looked at which buildings had changed their appearance and which had stayed the same, how the layout of the Market Hill has changed over the years and developments in vehicles, services and use from 1903 to the present day.

Isabella - "We saw that several shops and spaces for parking have changed over time as the years have gone on as more cars would have been built and used by people in the area."

Zara - "We saw some buildings had changed their use, such as some houses now being used as shops."

Chloe - "Some of the buildings appeared to have the original wooden beams still visible. As technology has improved and developed over time so have the shops on the Market Hill."
