As writers, we have been writing our own journey tales after looking at an example. We could keep the same plot of the original story, a knight going on a quest, or make our own based on entirely new characters, settings and adventures. This allowed us to showcase some of the language skills we have developed this year.
As designers, we have been creating castles out of cardboard boxes and recycled materials. Our castles had to resemble castles from history as well as have a drawbridge style entrance using a pully system.
Finally, as musicians, our year 3s performed a selection of songs to Class LH to give them a taste of what they will learn during clarinet lessons. The children performed brilliantly; combining singing and playing along using a range of notes. It was wonderful to see all of their hard work across the year come together.
