European Morning of Languages - Wir hatten Spaß! (We had fun!)
Whole School Assembly to celebrate languages.
Last Friday, we were delighted to welcome Mr Heath and his assistant Johanna, from Thomas Mills High School to help us celebrate our European Morning of Languages by introducing some German vocabulary and phrases during our assembly. Each class in our school chose a different country to study to learn some of the country's language and traditions. There was a buzz around the school as children were cooking, sounding out words and creating beautiful artwork and maps. Each child showed off their learning by creating a collage on a paper plate and we are looking forward to seeing these displayed in the classrooms.
We enjoyed hearing about some German traditions including welcoming back children and staff to school in the Autumn by presenting them all with a bag of sweets!! The SRH children were very envious of this German tradition.
Class JA have been busy learning more about this fascinating
country, its people and culture. They designed their own beautiful plates
illustrating elements of Germany and everybody enjoyed a small German
confectionary treat.
