Major David Squirrell, from the Salvation Army, came to talk to year 3 and year 4. As theologians, we have been finding out this half term about how Christians save and serve others and the use of the words “salvation” ; “saviour” and “save”. We have been exploring these in stories from the bible where Jesus saved people; in Christmas carols where these words were explored and studied; and thinking about people who save and rescue people as part of their jobs.
It was fascinating to find out about how the Salvation Army was founded and all the work they do in helping people in society who are in need. There was a brilliant Q&A session too with some very thought provoking questions.
