Nature Week Highlights

This has been an amazing week in school with children of all ages taking part in a range of exciting nature activities. In the Foundation stage the children have been on a walk around the Mere, looked at owls, patterns in nature, living things & life cycles (of seeds) and been bird spotting. They have also had a giant African Land Snail in their classroom. In Key Stage 1 they have looked at art through nature, made flowers, been orienteering, scavenger hunting, mere walk, made rainbow fruit salads, wormeries and cress shapes. In years 3&4 the children have identified birds and trees, recognised bird songs, made bird feeders, made flower collages and tree poems. In key stage 2 the children have been orienteering, on a mere walk, mini beast hunt and made fruit & veg pictures.
The pictures below show some of the highlights.
