Whole School Letter 32

INTERNET SAFETY TRAINING FOR PARENTS

On Wednesday 6 April, we will be holding a special training evening for parents, from 7pm – 8.30pm, this is a repeat of the afternoon session held last November.

Following the huge rise in the use of the internet and ‘social networking’ sites we felt it would be useful to parents to understand more about them. We hope to help you identify the issues surrounding these sites for both you and your children.

We have arranged for the training team within SCC Safeguarding in Education to run this training. The overall event will be around keeping children safe on the internet and social networking sites. The training will cover ‘Facebook’ and Social Networking sites, what they are, the benefits of them and the not so good elements. They will also cover good and bad profile content and privacy settings.

If you are interested in attending this training please complete and return the slip below as soon as possible. Places are limited to 20 from this school, as the training is also being offered to staff from local schools.
