London Trip for Year 6

The year 6 pupils had a jam-packed day on Friday, travelling to London for a tour of Westminster Abbey and then the Houses of Parliament.  They even managed a stop outside No.10 Downing Street to get a photo! (although that did take some advance organising with the security team!) as well as walking along the Embankment and a few other landmark locations.

In Parliament they were able to be in the viewing gallery of the House of Commons and the House of Lords to watch the politicians in action - debating & voting.  The children also had some really informative workshops which they all enjoyed.

Well done to all the children for their impeccable behaviour, and thanks to all the school staff involved in planning and running this complex, but exciting and beneficial trip. Thanks also to the Friends who annually donate £300 towards the cost of this trip to reduce the cost to families.

A few photos below... more can be seen on the website gallery.

Co-incidentally, in the EADT last week there was nostalgic photo of the Year 6 London trip from 1966!
