Class RJ Science Investigation

Over the last two weeks, Class RJ have been investigating the impact of sunlight on plant growth. Having put one tray of cress in a cupboard and one in direct sunlight, we loved observing the changes in the plants as they grew. We noticed that the cress starved of sunlight grow long spindly stems with tiny leaves whilst the plants in direct sunlight had healthy leaves with sturdy stems. The investigation has been such a success and the children spoke about how the plants look like they're reaching out for the sunlight. See if your child remembers the the word photosynthesis and what it means!
