Circus Science and Technology at Thomas Mills

All of year 6 spent a fantastic day at Thomas Mills High School.
Half the day was spent in the technology department with with Mr G. Each child got to build a tightrope walker. This involved using a huge range of equipment.

Watch this video - it has a funny ending!

The other half of the day was spent in one of the science laboratories with Mr Halls.
In there we did some investigations about balance, projection and explosions.

Finally Mr Halls treated us to some great demonstrations of other sciencific special effects used in the circus.

As well as having a great time, the children learnt a lot of skills for use in technology and science. They are really looking forward to going to Thomas Mills High School in September and having the opportunity to use these facilities on a regular basis.
Watch this video - but be prepared to jump!
