School Newsletter 43

Welcome back to everyone for the last half term of school. We do hope that you had a restful break and took full advantage of the great weather.

BAGS TO SCHOOL COLLECTION REMINDER – Wednesday 8 June
The Charity Bag collection is at 9am on the back playground. All clothing, sleepwear, bedding, belts, footwear (in pairs) will be gratefully received; place in the collection bags handed out before half term, or bring items in any bin-liners/carrier bags. Thank you.

MRS PASCOE’S LEAVING COLLECTION
A collection is being held for Mrs Pascoe, the school’s office manager, who is retiring from the school in July. If you would like to make a donation, please pass it to the school office in a marked envelope by 1 July. Her gift will be presented at the end of term. Thank you.

HOLY HORRORS – NOT ON THIS WEEK...
Please note there will be no Holy Horrors on Wednesday 8 June.
It will be held on 15, 22, 29 June and 9 July.

YEAR 6 PROJECT AT THOMAS MILLS – Wednesday 8 June
Year 6 pupils are to spend the day at Thomas Mills for a ‘Circus’ themed project. Please can you ensure you child has a packed lunch on Wednesday. Thank you.

REMINDER FAMILY SPORTS AND SUMMER FUN EVENING - Friday 10 June
For this event you can purchase tickets on the gate - £1 adult and 50p child.
If the weather is too wet to run the sports part of the event, we will let all the children know in Friday’s Assembly. We will still have a free event in the hall from 6.00pm – 7.30pm which will include the bottle tombola, children’s tombola, lucky dip, lucky lollies, tuck shop, bar, Pimms bar, cake stall, toy stall, book stall– so still plenty of things for everyone to come along to – we hope you will still support us if the weather is poor. (There will be no Maypole dancing if we are in the hall)

MAD HATTERS THEMED LUNCH – Tuesday 14 June
SCC Catering are planning a Mad Hatters Themed lunch on the above date. Look out for the special menu in the classrooms

PHOTOGRAPHS – Wednesday 15 June
On Wednesday 15 June the photographer will be coming to take class, sports teams and Year 6 photos.
Please can you ensure that the children have their sweatshirts with them for the photograph even if it’s a hot day.
Also could children in sports teams ensure they have their PE kit in school and relevant footwear e.g. football boots, trainers etc.

SAINSBURY’S VOUCHERS
We are still accepting these vouchers until Friday 17 June, when we will need to ‘bank’ them to place our order for free resources. Please hand any into the office. Thank you.

CAKE STALL SUCCESS
The Friends would like to thank all the families of EM & CA for their baking at the end of last half term, the cake stall raised a whopping £180. Thank you to everyone for their support

NON-PUPIL DAY REMINDER – Friday 24 & Monday 27 June
Please note the 2 non pupil days later in the month. Can we point out that Thomas Mills High School only has the Friday as the non-pupil day.

FRIENDS FILM NIGHT NEXT DATE – Friday 8 July
