SCHOOL REPORTS AND PARENT CONSULTATIONSSchool reports will be sent home on Friday 8 July. Following feedback from parent surveys we have revised the report format which now contains additional comments about your child’s progress at school this year. We hope this will give you all the information you require, however if you feel there is a need to talk the report through with the class Teacher, they will be available for Parent Consultations during the week of 11 July (date yet to be confirmed). A letter will be included with the report about the confirmed date and how to make an appointment.

WIND AND BRASS LESSONSDue to the many clashes this term with school trips, PD days etc, the children who took up Wind and Brass this year who come on MONDAYS will be given a list of changes to their lessons for July – please make a note of these dates so that they remember to bring their instruments in.

NON-PUPIL DAY REMINDER – Friday 24 & Monday 27 JunePlease note the 2 non pupil days this Friday and Monday. Can we point out that Thomas Mills High School only has the Friday as the non-pupil day.

NO RECORDER LESSONS – Thursday 30 JuneDue to the KS2 production, there will be no afterschool recorder lessons on this day.

TESCO VOUCHERS – REWARDS ORDERWe raised 23,414 vouchers thanks to all your efforts and to Miss Simpson for counting them all! We have ordered a number of different items this year including some KS1 IT resources, lots of playground toys (balls, hoops, play bats and agility ladders), plus some lovely ‘welcome’ signs for our Nature area and Gardening area.

NEWSPAPER SALESThe newspapers made by RV and DB pupils and sold to pupils from NSJB & GH last week raised £8.76. This has now been sent to the RSPCA along with the £116 raised by Year 6 at the Summer Fun evening

SWIMMING – POOR WEATHERThe teachers will make decisions about whether or not to swim at least 20 minutes before the class are due to swim. We will endeavor to ring any parent helpers if we have to cancel.

FRIENDS FILM NIGHT NEXT DATE – Friday 8 JulyThe Friends film night on Friday 8 July, will be a showing of ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’. More detail to follow.

FOUNDATION TRIP TO JIMMY’S FARMOn Friday, Reception and Nursery children travelled to Jimmy’s Farm for a really fun day out. It was wonderful to see the excitement on the children’s faces, and everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

CRICKET SUCCESSWell done to the Year 6 Cricket teams – both the girls and boys teams played in area tournaments last week. The girls team finished as runners-up, narrowly losing out to Halesworth Middle in the final match. The boys were convincing winners of their tournament and go on to play in the County tournament on 27 June.

THANKS FOR CAKE DONATIONSMiss Samuels and Miss Mayhew would like to thank all those who made cakes for Friday’s cake stall; it raised £103, which will go to the family with the baby in Addenbrokes to help with transport and accommodation costs. In addition the Fete they held in Kettleburgh raised a further £514.

CROSSING PATROLFollowing Wednesday’s meeting regarding the road crossing – we are now very hopeful that the recruitment freeze may be lifted in the very near future, allowing us to advertise for the position of School Crossing Patrol. Thank you to all those families who supported us on Wednesday, we will keep you informed.

JUNIOR ROAD SAFETY OFFICERSOn Friday our Year 5 JRSOs Poppy, Chloe, Ben and Eleanor went to the Council Chambers at Suffolk County Council, Endeavour House for the Junior Road Safety Officers of the Year awards. Congratulations to these four who scooped a Gold certificate for the work they have done this year in raising awareness of road safety through the school. Thanks must also go to Mrs Turner who has helped the team this year.
