News from the French Clubs

This is what the French Clubs have been up to so far this summer term....

The Year 1 French Club are learning some traditional French songs, such as Frère Jacques, Sur le Pont d'Avignon and Au Clair de la Lune.   As the weather is now very warm, we pretended we were in 'le Sud' and set up a French café, called 'Café Avignon', role-playing how to order food and drink in French - attached is a photo of some of the group.

The Year 2 French Clubs rose to the Hitcham's Hundred challenge of counting in 10s to 100.  Everyone did really well and got a French ‘madeleine’ cake for their efforts.  We also played a few games of loto in 10s which was fun!  As well as doing lots of role plays, activities, games and bookwork, Year 2 have also been looking at a map of 'La France' and plotting the big cities and famous rivers.

The Year 3/4 French Club have completed the second book of the La Jolie Ronde course, Salut Céline et Antoine.  As you can see from this photo, they are all very pleased with their achievement.... Fantastique!
