This morning the children re-capped on their senses by enjoying a five senses scavenger hunt. They explored and found natural items such as: a heart shaped object, something that makes music, something warm, something an animal might eat and a scented leaf.
We discussed woodland management and the children helped to remove some shrubs to make room for a large group shelter. They enjoyed learning how to use secateurs and loppers safely.
Some children planted a conker as we decided we needed to replace the shrubs we cut down.
The children learnt that a conker grows in to a horse chestnut tree not a conker tree!
Great perseverance was shown when lighting fairy fires.
On going activities were enjoyed during the morning.
