The European Morning of Languages was celebrated in style with a fiesta to round off the class' learning about Spain. After a few renditions of The Macarena and some rather enthusiastic dancing to Spanish disco music, the children enjoyed Spanish style fruit punch with an 'garnish' of mocktail umbrellas, Spanish crispbreads tapas with chorizo, Manchego style cheese and a mild chilli, red pepper and tomato sauce. Some children bravely tried Spanish olives and a few liked them and requested more.
Overall, we were very impressed with the class' learning and their enthusiasm when pronouncing some Spanish words and phrases, investigating Picasso and creating artwork in his style. The children's recall of their learning in a quiz was really impressive and this included remembering the location of some Spanish cities, climate information and more.
Bien hecho todos! (Well done everybody!).
